Programs

Welcome to the Programs page of Keeping Independence Together (KIT). As a newly established charity, we are committed to creating impactful programs that support those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in the Dorset area. Our programs are designed to provide financial assistance for essential technology, equipment, and fully accessible holiday experiences. Although we are in the early stages of our journey, we are dedicated to turning our vision into reality with the support of our community. Below, you will find more information about our planned programs and how we aim to make a difference in the lives of these brave individuals and their families.

Financial Assistance Program

Objective: To provide financial aid to families of those with Duchenne in Dorset for acquiring specialised equipment and technology that promote independence.

Details: As we establish our charity, we plan to offer grants to help with the purchase of communication devices, mobility aids, and necessary home modifications. Please contact us to discuss how we may be able to help.

Accessible Holidays Program

Objective: To offer financial support for accessible holiday experiences for those with Duchenne and their families.

Details: Our goal is to relieve the financial burden on holiday packages that include accessible accommodations, equipment, and activities tailored to meet the needs of those with Duchenne. We believe that holidays should not cost a family more because of accessibility requirements. We aim to launch this program once we secure sufficient funding.
